The inkwell Experience
call
Call in and start the triage process. When you call inkwell, you will speak directly with a knowledgeable veterinary triage advisor. They will find out a little more about what’s going on, help decide if you need to be seen, and get your pet registered. Dedicated time up front means less time waiting to be seen.
check-in
Once you arrive we will tell a member of your care team that you’re here. Someone will come out and make a quick assessment while you get checked in. If you already approved diagnostics with your triage advisor, don’t be surprised if we bring your pet back to get started. You can watch what’s happening in the treatment area while you wait.
go to a room
Going to your exam room: When we bring you back you may wonder: am I supposed to be back here? All of our exam rooms are directly connected to the treatment area so you and your pet are never far away from one another. Welcome!
triage
Admission and Triage: Once in your exam room, a veterinary assistant will check your pet’s vitals, get a little more information if needed, and make some initial recommendations. After this we will bring your pet to the treatment area for a thorough examination and consultation with the doctor.
diagnostics
Based on the history and physical exam, your pet’s care team may recommend diagnostic tests to help figure out the cause of your pet’s illness. We have a full suite of state-of-the-art equipment, so we can run most of these tests in house and get you answers as fast as the machines can go!
treatments
Based on our findings, we will make our assessment and review a treatment plan with you. We will administer any necessary treatments in hospital and send you home with any oral medications that your pet may need. If your pet needs to be hospitalized, they can stay with us for the day until we close.
discharge
Discharge with Clear Next Steps: At the end of the visit, a member of your care team will explain all the medications and care recommendations for your pet. If your pet needs to be transferred to an overnight facility for further care, we will coordinate directly with the hospital’s medical team. We will help you understand potential costs and expectations before you transfer your pet, making the experience as easy and seamless as possible.
records
Sending Records to Your Vet: No matter what the outcome, we will communicate directly with your primary veterinarian. By sending your pet’s full records, they will know what happened, what diagnostics were performed, and what, if any, recheck plan is needed. This helps your vet pick right up where we left off.
